We adhere to the time-honored traditional credit union philosophy of "People Helping People." We were formed for the purpose of encouraging savings by offering a good return, using our collective monies to make loans at competitively low interest rates to members and to provide other member services on a cooperative basis.
Our mission is to provide high quality financial services to our members and to promote economic growth and stability within the El Cajon Federal Credit Union. These services will be provided at such a price as to facilitate future growth, protect our members' assets and provide a good standard of living for our employees.
On February 11, 1960, eight City of El Cajon employees signed the Organization Certificate to form El Cajon Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union. They felt strongly that the employees of the City needed to be protected financially during the rapidly changing setting of the 1960’s. By pooling resources into a cooperative structure they created a viable financial institution that is still thriving even in today’s turbulent economic environment. In 1995, the name was shortened to simply El Cajon Federal Credit Union while services were increased to meet the growing needs of an expanding membership. We are proud to celebrate over 50 years of service and look to support our member-owners in achieving their financial goals far into the future.
Our staff is committed to providing exceptional personal service, while helping our members make the right financial choices. Our personnel have diverse credit union and banking backgrounds to serve you. Though we are only five staff members, together we have over 80 years of financial experience. |
